AB Dental Employment Agency is a market leader within the dental industry. We offer a number of training courses aimed at groups of individuals wishing to enter the dental industry or develop their current skill set.
Overseas Dental Professionals and Beginners
We have developed two courses specifically designed for overseas dental professionals to assist with integration into the Australian Workforce. The programs have been devised to give an understanding into the role of the Dental Assistant, and will give the practical and theoretical knowledge required for job placement. This course would suit any individual who wishes to work as a Dental Assistant or Receptionist while they either undergo their registration process to work as a Dentist, Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist, or who has decided not to register in their chosen profession but wants to stay working within the dental field.
These courses would also suit those wishing to enter the dental industry and assist with integration into the workforce. The programs have been devised to give an understanding into the role of the Dental Assistant, and will assist with practical and theoretical knowledge required for job placement. This course would suit anyone interested in joining the industry.
Note: These courses are not accredited.
What is the duration of the course?
There are two parts to the program. The first part runs for approx. 40 hours and is half theory, and half practical, the latter being in a dental practice. The groups are larger and can have up to 10 people each session.
The second part of the program is one week of work experience which is a work placement at a private dental clinic. That will also run for approx. 35-40 hours

The cost of the course is $990
Am I guaranteed employment at the end of the course?
Employment with our agency for oversees dental professionals is not guaranteed at the end of this course. The program is an introduction into the industry, and is designed to assist with integration into the workforce. It is up to the individual’s workplace suitability and will be influenced by communication, presentation, attitude and aptitude for Dental Assisting.
There is an assessment during the course and we will give you feedback on;
- Your communication skills
- Your clinical knowledge
- Your ability to carry out instructions in a timely manner
- Your aptitude for the role
We can, in some circumstances, assist with temporary employment subject to work placement reports and feedback from our trainer.
Services we provide after the course include assistance with resume preparation, assisting you with applying for work and managing job applications, liaising with prospective employers on your behalf and providing recommendations.
If you have no prior dental experience we can assist with job placement but cannot guarantee a work. You will still be competing in the market place with other candidates for jobs.
